Policy
Road and vehicle safety policy
Last updated
Summary
Accenti prevents road traffic incidents through competent drivers, roadworthy vehicles and planned journeys, protecting our people, passengers and the public.
Who it applies to
The policy applies to all Accenti-owned, leased and hired vehicles and mobile plant, and to every employee, contractor and subcontractor who drives or travels in them.
Key requirements
Authorized drivers
Only drivers with a valid license for the vehicle class, a company driving authorization and a satisfactory assessment drive Accenti vehicles.
Roadworthy vehicles
Vehicles have a documented pre-use check and are maintained to manufacturer schedules. Defective vehicles are taken out of service.
Seatbelts and speed
Every occupant wears a seatbelt at all times, and road and site speed limits are obeyed.
No distraction or impairment
Using a hand-held phone while driving is prohibited, and drivers must be fit for work under the drug and alcohol policy.
Loads and passengers
Loads are secured and within rated capacity. Passengers travel only in seats fitted with seatbelts, never in cargo areas.
Journey management
Journeys out of town or at night follow an approved plan with route, timings, check-in points and communications. Driving hours and rest are controlled.
